Subscribe to CABHI’s monthly newsletter to learn about future funding opportunities.

In addition to receiving investment, companies will gain access to a curated selection of CABHI’s Acceleration Services to help validate their technologies. These validation services include, but are not limited to:

  • Tailored Consulting Services: receive additional funding to cover (up to $5,000) external consulting services needed to advance your validation project. CABHI’s MC2 Validation team will connect you with experts in our network to support in-depth strategic planning in areas such as reimbursement, research, regulatory, QMS, intellectual property, sales, and growth strategy.

  • Clinical and research officers: from CABHI’s network of subject matter experts including scientists, researchers, and clinicians, who can mentor/advise the company with research and clinical trial validation, and potentially assist in identifying a principal investigator.

  • Scientific and Research Consulting: Baycrest’s Kunin-Lunenfeld Centre for Applied Research & Evaluation (KL-CARE) will provide services (up to $10,000) to projects to ensure validation studies are conducted in a way that is scientifically valid and can lead to the best possible chance for adoption, spread, and scale. This includes support with study design, scientific and analysis consults.

  • Knowledge Mobilization Support: CABHI’s Knowledge Mobilization team will support disseminating the Validation project results. This can include support in developing a Knowledge Mobilization Strategy and relevant assets (One-Pagers, Brochures, infographics).

  • Internships/Co-op placements to support validation activities: access funding to subsidize ~25% of an intern, exclusively available to CABHI portfolio companies. (Note: Subsidy can increase to 100% with leverage from Biotalent, or other similar funding sources)

  • Innovation Network: an ecosystem of 100+ healthcare delivery organizations and health system leaders across Canada, the United States, and globally, to help companies with real-world validation.

  • End-user and customer validation: End-user testing and customer discovery through CABHI’s LEAP platform, our diverse, national/international community of older adults, caregivers, healthcare providers, and decision-makers who help companies refine and market their solutions to improve end-user validation, and uptake.

The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation’s (CABHI) Mentorship, Capital, and Continuation (MC2) Program, in partnership with National Bank, is a first-of-its-kind investment fund dedicated to supporting the growth of early-stage healthtech and fintech companies. Within the MC2 portfolio, MC2 Validation provides funding and support for validation activities as well as access to end user feedback through CABHI’s LEAP platform and Innovation Network.</h3>

Ranked as the second most active investor in Canada based on 2023 Q1 deal volume, CABHI has gathered feedback from the startup community over the last three years and created MC2 Validation. This program seeks to support the growth of early-stage Canadian Age-Tech companies, that have a solution that can improve the lives of aging adults and need validation (within a lab, or a real-world setting), with specific funding and support to reach their next inflection point.
