Jocasta Neuroscience & Diamond Therapeutics to Research Novel Compounds for Cognitive Impairment, Neurodegeneration highlights a new joint research program between Jocasta Neuroscience and Diamond Therapeutics focused on potential treatments for cognitive impairment and neurodegeneration. The collaboration will evaluate three new compounds developed by Diamond that are designed to mimic aspects of psilocybin’s therapeutic activity while avoiding hallucinogenic effects.
The companies plan to conduct preclinical studies assessing the compounds’ pharmacokinetics, behavioural effects, and impact on cognitive performance. Compounds that demonstrate cognitive benefits without hallucinogenic-like effects would be prioritized for further development. The collaboration also complements Jocasta’s lead therapeutic candidate, JN-0413, which is expected to enter first-in-human clinical trials in early 2027.
