CSC Fellowship Phases

  • Phase 1: Learn + Ideate

    Complete a sponsored knowledge mobilization asynchronous course (valued at $495 CAD) and connect with end users from CABHI’s extensive network

  • Phase 2: Plan

    Create a dissemination and/or implementation plan

  • Phase 3: Develop

    Develop and receive feedback on progress and complete a mid-fellowship progress report

  • Phase 4: Launch

    Launch output to the target audience, present output at the CSC Fellowship Showcase (virtual), collect success metrics, and submit the final report

Applicant Eligibility

  • Must be registered as a CSC Member (register here: www.cabhi.com/sciencecollaborative)

  • Must be enrolled as a Master’s or PhD student in an academic, research-based program, or employed as a postdoctoral fellow

  • Must be enrolled or employed at an accredited Canadian university or a recognized research or healthcare organization (e.g., hospital, research institute)

  • Must remain registered full-time at their institution throughout the fellowship duration and be in good academic standing

  • Must be located in Canada

  • Must conduct research related to aging and brain health

  • Must submit a Letter of Support from the applicant’s academic supervisor (including co-supervisors)

  • May be requested to provide proof of academic status and/or institution

  • Awardees of CABHI’s NextGen Support Package are not eligible to concurrently receive funding or support through the CABHI Science Collaborative (CSC) Fellowship

  • Previous CSC Fellows are not eligible

Project Eligibility

  • Project must be based on the applicant's own research

  • If research is not solely that of the applicant, the applicant must attest on the application form that they have the support of their research collaborators

  • Project must align with one of CABHI's Innovation Themes

  • Project and associated budget are expected to adhere to milestones and progress tracking

  • Project application and budget must adhere to the Eligible Expense Guideline (below)

  • Project-related travel costs are not eligible

  • Project must have end-user engagement with the target audience when designing the output (e.g., consultation with a community member, practitioner, policymaker, or industry)

About the CABHI Science Collaborative (CSC)

The CABHI Science Collaborative (CSC) provides free opportunities for scientists, researchers, and trainees to complement and expand their skill set in innovation and confidently engage with a community of innovators, non-academic sectors (e.g., industry partners), and other diverse stakeholder groups.

The CSC will enable trainees to access:

CABHI Science Collaborative Fellowship Opportunities (NOW OPEN): Exclusive access to funding ($5,000 CAD salary offset + $10,000 CAD project costs for 6 months) to mobilize or apply their research in innovative ways.

The CSC will enable scientists, researchers, and trainees to access:

    Gain access to CABHI-sponsored professional development courses (valued up to $3,000) on critical topics like knowledge mobilization and AgeTech trends.

    Strengthen knowledge and expertise through interactive rounds, workshops, showcases, internships, and job shadowing with a focus on preparing for diverse career paths in research, industry, and non-profit sectors.

  • Hands-On Skill Building + Impactful Engagement Opportunities

    Expand essential and in-demand skills in networking, project management, design thinking, knowledge mobilization, and end-user engagement (e.g., through CABHI’s Leap platform). 

    Gain the opportunity to become a CABHI Scientific Advisor, providing scientific advising and mentorship, and contributing your expertise to innovators, researchers, industry leaders, and healthcare organizations.

  • Exclusive Networking + Recognition

    Join a dynamic community of innovators, researchers, and healthcare leaders committed to driving change.
