The Government of Canada is investing $700,000 in La Ruche Solution de Financement, a Quebec-based non-profit crowdfunding platform, to help innovative start-ups access funding and accelerate growth. Announced by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), the investment will support the creation of a matching crowdfunding fund for businesses developing digital, technological, and environmentally focused solutions.
Through the fund, eligible businesses can receive government support that matches the amount they raise through a crowdfunding campaign on La Ruche's platform, up to $50,000 per project. For example, a company that successfully raises $20,000 from the public could receive an additional $20,000 through the matching fund. The initiative is designed to improve access to capital for early-stage innovators and help bring promising ideas to market.
