AI leadership takes centre stage at ALL IN 2026

Canada continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in artificial intelligence, highlighted at ALL IN 2026, the country's flagship AI conference. The event brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers from around the world to showcase Canada's growing AI ecosystem and explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and responsible AI development. The conference also highlighted Canada's commitment to ensuring AI delivers economic benefits while remaining safe, transparent, and trustworthy.

Several major announcements underscored this momentum. Among them was the launch of plans for a Canadian-led open-source AI consortium involving Mila, Mozilla, and Hypertec, aimed at making advanced AI tools more accessible to organizations and businesses. Canada and Germany also announced plans to invest in LawZero, a Montréal-based organization developing a new approach to advanced AI designed to be trustworthy, transparent, and safe by design. In addition, Mila and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence announced a new applied research partnership to advance collaboration on areas such as safe AI systems, open-source AI, smart energy, and Earth observation.

The conference demonstrated the growing international interest in Canada's AI sector. With more than 8,500 participants from over 50 countries, ALL IN 2026 reinforced Canada's role as a hub for AI innovation, talent, and investment.
