Aligning on regional direction for neurology services in the Interior of British Columbia is challenging as many different interest holders and perspectives exist. There is a lot of exceptional research and quality improvement initiatives happening across the region, but there is a lack of awareness and alignment happening. The partners, which include academic researchers and administrators; clinicians and physicians; as well as medical, clinical and executive leaders, are all working to increase access to neurological care and conduct high-impact research; however, their efforts are not always tackled through partnership. Partnerships across the network of brain health excellence would increase the effectiveness of their efforts.
The Interior Network of Brain Health Excellence is a social innovation focused on showcasing and connecting high-impact research and innovation through mapping, technology-enabled practice innovations, and a co-hosted symposium. The network also seeks to prioritize linking specialized expertise across the region, furthering collaborative partnerships and articulating a longer-term strategy for regional neurology services. This includes facilitation and co-developed strategies across the multi-interest holders.
