Incluzia: Empowering Older Persons to Age at Home Safely

Aging at home, or in a setting of choice, is deeply personal. It supports independence, dignity, and quality of life. But without the right supports and safeguards, aging at home can create risks for older persons, care partners, and families. Incluzia—a company dedicated to assessing home safety and offering personalized recommendations—was developed to meet this important need.

Incluzia recognizes the importance of maintaining independence while also prioritizing personal safety, so it created two mobile applications to help older persons age at home: one application for older persons and care partners to assess home safety and another for healthcare professionals to identify risks and provide trusted recommendations.

Ignite accelerated the development and internal testing of 2 digital platforms, and without this support we would not be in a position to bring IncluzIT HOME to market in May 2026. Key partnerships during Ignite

  • Centre for Technology Adoption for Aging in the North (CTAAN)

    Incluzia partnered with CTAAN to participate in the Adept Workshops, bringing stakeholders together in northern BC to review and provide feedback on new technology that benefits older persons in the north. From this engagement, a report was produced to help inform the ongoing development of IncluzIT PRO.  

  • University of Manitoba

    Incluzia partnered with the University of Manitoba to build out the second phase of a research study that followed a phase one national survey of occupational therapists across Canada, focusing on their priorities and preferences for a digital assessment tool. Incluzia co-designed a usability and acceptance study focused on IncluzIT PRO.

  • Sheridan College

    Incluzia partnered with Sheridan College, Centre for Elder Research. and conducted a survey with older persons and caregivers on their aging-in-place priorities and the features they would want to see in IncluzIT HOME. This consumer engagement informed the development of IncluzIT HOME.
