How Diamond is Supporting Women’s Brain Health During the Menopause Transition

2026 Impact Report Fuel Programs Impact Blog |

For many women, the menopause transition can bring significant health challenges, including anxiety, mood changes, emotional distress, and other impacts on cognitive health. CABHI’s recent AgeTech Insights Report, Supporting Brain Health During Menopause: Understanding the Role of Technology (March 2026), revealed that 77% of women agreed that symptoms such as memory difficulties, trouble concentrating, mood changes, and sleep disturbances can occur during any type or stage of menopause.

Diamond Therapeutics is studying a novel treatment derived from psilocybin—a compound found in select types of mushrooms—designed to support mental health without causing hallucinations. The company has now expanded the study to include women experiencing anxiety during the menopausal transition. This new research stream will generate critical evidence for a historically underserved population and help advance understanding of women’s brain health during midlife.

With CABHI’s support we were able to include an arm in our phase 2 clinical trial to include menopausal women. This group is underserved and new treatments are needed.
