The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), powered by Baycrest, and the Trade Council of Denmark recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming their plans to work together in support of innovation focused on aging and brain health, with a particular focus on healthy aging and cognitive health.
CABHI, a Toronto-based global solution accelerator for the aging and brain health sector, provides funding and support to innovators for the development, testing, and dissemination of new ideas and technologies that address unmet brain health and seniors care needs.
Innovation in this sector is vital to address the brain health and care needs of an ever-increasing number of older adults. CABHI facilitates collaborations between leading seniors care organizations and innovators from around the globe with promising solutions in the following areas, with an emphasis on dementia-related issues: non-invasive medical devices, emerging technologies, wellness and digital health solutions, healthcare delivery practices, therapeutic approaches, and practitioner/caregiver training and support. CABHI also provides support and training to innovators to increase the culture of innovation in the sector.
In the last decade, Danish export to Canada has grown significantly, making Canada an important market for Danish companies. At the same time, Denmark has become an international benchmark for eldercare. The Danish approach focuses on empowering elders, considering their individual needs and preferences, and enabling sustainable solutions to maximize quality of life. The Danish-Canadian Eldercare Platform (DCEP) was created to bridge opportunities for improvement in Canada and solutions from Denmark.
