CABHI invites Baycrest students and volunteers to participate in the Innovation Challenge 2017!

In its inaugural year, CABHI is hosting a competition to create a solution to reduce social isolation in seniors. Social isolation and loneliness are two of the most significant risk factors facing individuals as they age.

In a Dragon’s Den-style competition, Baycrest students and volunteers under the age of 25 who participate will have the opportunity to learn about innovation, develop empathy towards seniors, interact with their peers and build capacity as future health care leaders.   Participants are asked to form teams who will work together to develop a solution (i.e. program, game, innovative way of using technology etc.) to help seniors feel less isolated and lonely, and more socially connected.

TO REGISTER:

Please review the information package for details.  The first step is to submit a registration as a team. All Baycrest students and volunteers (under age 25) are eligible to apply.  Once the registration is confirmed, the team will be required to submit a preliminary PowerPoint describing the idea, how it solves the problem and what makes it unique. Preliminary submissions will be reviewed by CABHI staff and a select number of teams will be approved to move forward to the second round. The second round will be an 8-10 minute pitch presentation to an expert panel with an opportunity to win up to $250 in cash prize and a certificate of recognition.
